I’m sure this film was made with great care and love, but what I think was most lacking was BREATHING. Opera singers learn to control their breathing in order to captivate us. And I agree with other less favorable reviews that the opening scene was a really bad example of lip-syncing, especially since I didn’t see Ms. Jolie breathe! Sure, La Callas lived a glamorous life, but I felt the focus was more on the visuals in this film. This is a film that made me stop watching until the end and I regret it. And I had high hopes for these two iconic women. “One Hundred Years of Solitude” is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month. Check out our December calendar for more!
